Future track monster!
Urbana is kind of odd to me. I grew up in Lombard, Illinois which had a great car culture when I lived there. I grew up hanging out at Cruisers Drive-In, rolling on Main Street in Downers, at Augustino's, loitering in the parking lot of Galaxy World, and even at the abandoned Clark gas station across from "Psychic Desa", the legendary local gypsy on Main in Lombard- all had street rods and muscle cars and gear heads being cool and talking about their cars on any given weekend. In Urbana I don't see it. People tend to white-knuckle their Prius' around. My '59 Chevy is met with some dagger-throwing looks, as if I skinned it with harp seal pelts. There are pockets if you look though. I found a student car enthusiasts from the UIUC RSO "Illini Automotive Club". These are the kind of guys who are strapped for cash, have no time, and spin wrenches on the cars they need to drive to work Thursday. What a great crew. They had this BMW 320i project they did a great job of sourcing, but didn't have time to finish. I always loved the old shark-nose Bimmers, and decided to make a cool streetable track car out of it. It is in the North Broadway Speed Lab, stripped down to bare metal and ready for engine, chassis, and driveline work.

I plan on building a 2.5L Ford Lima engine, 65mm turbocharged, 26lbs of boost, megasquirt, SCT tuner, coilovers. There will be a number on the door.

This car had a failed 289 engine transplant. I'm removing it here.

Engine out. v8's don't fit.
